School Day

The school day begins at 8.55am and closes for all pupils at 3.30.

School Uniform

We have a simple school uniform that we strongly encourage the children to wear. This consists of:

  • a navy-blue jumper, cardigan or sweatshirt
  • white, light blue or navy polo-shirt, shirt or blouse
  • black, navy-blue or grey trousers, skirt, shorts or pinafore dress
  • blue and white checked pinafore dress in the Summer
  • sensible shoes or sandals (no heels, trainers or flip-flops)

Sweatshirts and shirts displaying the school logo are available in all sizes through the PTA by contacting Mrs Sarah Popely on 01347 810649.

All children are expected to change into appropriate clothing for PE. We would prefer them to wear white, navy or plain t-shirts, shorts in black, navy or white, jogging top and bottoms for some outdoor activities and trainers or plimsolls are also required. Please mark all your child's clothing clearly with their name.

School Meals

School meals are cooked on the premises and served on a cafeteria basis in the school hall. If children prefer, they can bring packed lunches however we ask that no peanut based products are brought into school as we have a pupil with a severe peanut allergy.Lunch is served between 12noon and 1 pm. All children in EYFS and  KS 1 are entitled to a universal infant free school meal.

If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please contact the headteacher in confidence.

At morning break, children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 are entitled to a free piece of fruit or vegetable to eat, funded by the Department of Health. As it has proved so popular with our younger children, the PTA also provides this free service to our Key Stage 2 children in Classes 3 and 4.

The Healthy Child Team is a group of experienced qualified nurses and assistant practitioners who support young people aged 5 - 19 years and their families.  Parents who are concerned about their child's health can contact the team on 01423 535376.

We operate a non-smoking policy in all areas of the school grounds and buildings.

The school has achieved the National Healthy Schools Award.
