We are very pleased and proud to announce that we have been awarded Sainsbury's School Games Gold Award

Sports Funding

The government has given all school additional funding to promote PE in schools. We are using the funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision at Huby Primary School.

At Huby we use  Sports funding for the following:

  • To provide high quality PE lessons whilst also working alongside teachers in their lessons to increase their subject knowledge and PE skills.
  • To provide a range of extra-curricular sports clubs run by existing members of staff and specialist coaches.
    (running, netball, football, multi-skills)
  • To provide the opportunity for sports activities outside of the classroom.
  • To coordinate and run cluster sporting competitions and events throughout the academic year.
(All cluster sports events cover a range of activities including cross country, tag rugby and multi-skills.)
  • To provide high quality equipment and resources.
  • To develop staff skills through high quality CPD.

From these actions we are hoping to:

  • Increase pupil participation in sporting activities.
  • Increase participation and success in competitive sports.
  • Develop children’s understanding of ‘being healthy’ and the way in which exercise plays a central role.
